Find it.
It's over zere.
One slow walk with a phone maps a store: aisles, shelves and every product it can read. Then anyone can search for an item and be walked to the right aisle, and to the right shelf.
Download for AndroidTest build for invited users. Android 8 or newer with Google Play Services for AR. After downloading, open the file and allow installing from your browser if Android asks.
Map a store
One slow walk
- Tap Map a store and stand at the entrance.
- Walk down the middle of every aisle, shelves in view.
- Tap Finish. The phone builds the map, finds the aisles and reads the shelves, then gives the store a six-letter code.
Find a product
Aisle first, then the shelf
- Tap Find a product; the store shows up nearby, or type its code.
- Search "rice", "frijoles", "coffee".
- Tap Guide me there and follow the arrows, the voice and the map.
How it knows
Your phone's own sensors
ARCore tracks the phone in metres. The phone recognises where it is from the camera in about a tenth of a second, and nothing from the shopper's camera leaves the phone.
